What is scarcity?
Scarcity is often used in marketing and promotions, but what is it really about? I am sure you have heard about this word scarcity before...
Scarcity is the fear of loss, when marketers are playing on potential buyers fear of missing out. On their fear of missing out on something potentially valuable, something they can access for a beneficial price for a limited time... So why is it being applied in marketing? Simply to make more sales for a product or a service for instance. For instance when someone promotes a recently lauched marketing product and offer bonuses to all their buyers. Well then the marketer can state that the bonuses will be removed at a certain day and at a certain time.
That white lie
Some times a white lie is included in this way of marketing, because sometimes the bonuses are not removed at that certain date and time,they are still availablke after that. But sometimes the bonuses will be removed when the marketer has said that they will be removed, so it can be different ways of doing this. Anyway what it is all about is to make people take action and buy right then and there.
