Do You Promote Without Pay?

I love social media. I think it is a great way to see what is going on in the world and keep up with loved ones. It is also a good way to find out about the latest products and fashion dos/don'ts. However, how many of you are promoting without pay?

I see a lot of products being shown all over social media. People are posting their review of a product and moving on to the next thing. Reviews are good. They help the next person decide if they want to partake in a purchase. However, how many of you are getting paid for your promotion?

  • Everytime you introduce someone to a product you are initiating a relationship to a brand.
  • Everytime you post about something that you have tried and liked you are being a brand ambassador.
  • When you show your outfit of the day and tell people where to get it, you are initiating a sale for a company.
  • When you eat at a restaurant a post a picture of your plate of food, you are advertising for that restaurant.

How much free promotion are you providing on a daily basis on your social media? There is money in your posts and you are leaving it on the table.

Am I saying that you shouldn't post to promote things? Not at all. I promote things I like as well. But I also make sure to promote things that make me money.

If you are going to be a brand ambassador...be a paid brand ambassador. You are already telling people about the things you like and use anyway. Figure out a way to profit from that. Can you profit from everything? Probably not, but you can make the most of what you already do on a regular basis.
