Is Small Business Perched For A Golden Era?

Depending of course, on what type of business, the product or the service. How well you stay on top of trends, your advertising strategy and just your overall style of running your business … small businesses and internet marketers are on an open highway to success.

I believe more than ever that we are at the very beginning of an “Golden Era” for small businesses in the U.S.A., including MLM and Internet Marketers. This could remain so for the next 50 years or longer.

My reasoning is that now many of the Giants have closed and in 2019 the list is reportedly bigger than the last 2 years combined … those customers will be going somewhere. Why not to your business? They're shopping online, so why not to your site? Many are looking for a business to start, do you have have the answer?

We’ve seen the numbers that an online presence is crucial and that having a mobile presence is essential to our growth. If you tie your marketing strategy into Smartphone Technology … meaning Bluetooth and Digital you can win.

Why bother? To exist. The world is never going back to yesterday.

Yet, this year in 2019 … many are still spending their hard earned dollars on wishful thinking and still using traditional marketing. This is occurring even with the two largest demographics, the Baby Boomers and Millennials being in with the new and out with the old.

The chart below tells the story

There are much better options available to keep your business out in front of your niche ... it just requires a change in the way you approach your strategy in gaining new customers, leads and traffic.

Consumers of today are going digital and so that is where you want to be. With digital there are plenty avenues to be seen and heard. Prices are quite reasonable and may surprise you. The majority are even free.

Taking a look at social media, Bigcommerce.com states a good reason to use social media, ‘Social networks utilize user information to serve highly relevant advertisements based on interactions within a specific platform. In many instances, when target market aligns with the user demographics of a social platform, social advertising can provide huge increases in conversions and sales with a lower cost of acquisition.’

Facebook has developed quite a few tools to help us on our quest for more sales and worth a serious look at what they offer. On my next post we will take a look at those tools

In conclusion, traditional advertising is no longer viable in today's world. No one is watching TV commercials. No one listens to the radio, in fact radio will no longer be installed in cars starting in 2020. (I believe)

At one time, they were the only place to be and I for one hate to see them go. I’m a baby boomer and grew up with Dick Clark and Bandstand, watched the Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Then there were important, history making events that were covered by both TV and radio. The Cuban Missile Crisis when President Kennedy gave Russia an ultimatum. When astronaut John Glenn circled the earth. The first step ‘for mankind’ on the moon. Walter Cronkite, when President Kennedy was assassinated and how the world stood still as he broke the news.

Many, many events covered live to our nation by these two icons that touched generations as the events were happening and our lives changing moment by moment.

Sadly, just as Sears and Roebuck, Kodak, A&P Grocery and other memorable giants, due to their own inaction, they will soon be just a memory.

The lesson to learn here is to act before you have to react. Be there first because no one ever remembers second place. And front page news is about the one that bit the dust. About the one that had to quit.
